Faro Hermitages
> Hermitage of Nossa Senhora do Repouso (Our Lady of Rest)
This small chapel was built in the 18th century, within one of the arches in the old walls.
> Hermitage of Nossa Senhora do :
This chapel was originally located on the ramparts, and had to be rebuilt after the earthquake of1755 and has an interesting facade. It is assumed that this is where a statue of the Virgin, mentioned in the manuscripts of King Alfonso X of Castile, was kept during the Moorish period.
> Hermitage of Sao Sebastião (St. Sebastian)
An original medieval structure, of which today remains a gothic chapel with a paneled vault. The main chapel has a gold plated, carved retable belonging to the 18th century with the walls being
decorated in colorful blue and white motif tiles (from the17th century).
> Hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Esperança (Our Lady of Hope).
Belonging to the 15th-16th century, this chapel was restructured during the 18th century. Its cupola and bell tower are bejeweled with rococo ornamentation.
> Hermitage of Santo António do Alto / Antonio Museum:
Standing strong besides a watchtower from the medieval times, this chapel retains a stone etching as a proof of its construction in 1355!! The chapel has a crypt belonging to the early 16th century.
> Hermitage of Nossa Senhora do Pé da Cruz
(Our Lady of the Foot of the Cross)
This chapel dates back to the 17th century and has been altered subsequently. The chapel has a carved retable on the main altar and a number of statues. The triumphal arch is adorned with gilded carving and the statue of the patron saint (17th century) and twelve large canvasses depicting scenes from the Old Testament (18th century) are also present to add to the beauty of the chapel. On the rear portico is a testimonial station of the cross bearing a unique depiction of Nosso Senhor dos Aflitos made of engraved tiles. Edge of the portico & the large front window are prolifically decorated in the rococo style (third quarter of the 18th century). The tombstone of the founder couple is also to be seen. A lot of motif craftsmanship from the 17th century can be seen on the tiles lining the chapel .Come May each year the centuries-old festival of The Festa Da Pinha (Pine Cone festival), is held in the churchyard. 
> Hermitage of São Luis (St. Louis)
Located on what were once the outskirts of the city, this is a 17th century structure which was extensively rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century.

> Hermitage of São Miguel (St. Michael)
This was the private chapel (18th century) of a nobleman's house and has a facade of striking simplicity.
