> Infante Dom Henrique Archaeological Museum / Monastery of Nossa Senhora da Assunção:
The construction of this church/monastery was begun by two sisters born in Beja, on the spot of the old Jewish quarter, and was by completed by Queen Catarina. The work on the church and monastery carried on from 1519 to1550.
These buildings are an important example of the talent of the first renaissance in the Algarve. The church door has pillars with symbolic decorations. The cloister is on two floors, with four sets of arcades and decorative gargoyles in the contour of animals. It has an interesting lookout tower.
